YOUTH SPORTS

The Butler eighth-grade girls traveling basketball team beat Seneca Valley 36-17 Tuesday night.

Morgan Pfabe led Butler with 12 points, while Morgan McLaughlin had eight, Olivia Wiest had five and Natalie Barkus had four.

Butler suffered a 5-4 loss to Shaler recently despite getting goals from Brendan Camp, A.J. Jamison, Alex Matthews and Matt Steighner.

<B>SV Varsity III6, Shaler 3 — </B>Matt Roth scored two goals while Vanya Russo had a goal and three assists. Justin Lynn Casey Chambers and Chris Shook each scored a goal.<B>SV Varsity III3, Bethel Park 0 — </B>Roth and Russo scored goals with Kevin Goodnow adding a goal and assist. Casey Chambers had two assists and Alex Hoffman made 25 saves for the shutout.<B>SV Varsity IIBlue 6, SVVarsity IIBlack 5 — </B>Jamie Gloeckner scored four goals and Scott Van Horn had two for the Blue. Nick Verona had three assists. Adam Gaus scored three goals for the Black, with Steve Pecora and Alex Hoffman adding a goal each.<B>SV Varsity IIBlack 4, Central Catholic 3 — </B>Hoffman scored two goals, while Tony Poleti and Drew Sandora had one each.<B>Baldwin 4, SVVarsity IIBlue 1 — </B>Ryan Schutte scored the Blue goal.<B>SV Varsity IIBlue 5, Bethel Park 4 — </B>Schutte scored two goals, while Gloeckner, Alex Chase and Jayrd Hubert had one each. Verona had two assists.<B>Baldwin 7, SVJV1 6 — </B>Brad Johnson had three goals, and Dustin Soller a goal and two assists. Mason Hammond and Jake Fallon had a goal each. Bobby Watson had two assists.<B>SV JV 3 2, Latrobe 0 — </B>Greg Yobp and Austin Martini scored goals and goalie Bryan Byrd got the shutout.<B>SV JV 3 5, Central Catholic 2 — </B>Tyler Newpol scored two goals, with Shawn Johnston, Ian Friedrich and Tim Pecora netting one each.
