Tanner Gilliland scored three goals as the Butler freshman hockey team defeated Pine-Richland 5-2 recently at the Ice Connection.

Aaron Cunningham and Troy Double added goals for the Golden Tornado. Double had two assists.

Goalie Clay Bachman made 25 saves for Butler (7-1-2), which stands in second place in Section 3 of the PIHL.

Butler's freshman girls defeated Kiski Area 40-19, as Mackenzie Huey, Angela Nowacki and Caitlin Baxter each scored six points.Mackenzie O'Donnell and Jennifer Barry netted five points each.
