Caitlin Baxter scored 11 points and Jennifer Barry scored nine points to lead the Butler freshman girls to a 37-27 basketball win over Mount Lebanon Monday.
In a previous game, Angela Nowacki had 13 points. but Butler (1-1) dropped a 32-29 decision to Bethel Park.

Butler's sixth-grade girls defeated North Hills 27-14 as Alyssa DiPippa scored eight points, Jaclyn King and Kalyn Callihan six each.
The team also defeated Pine-Richland, 25-23, behind 14 points from Callihan, five from Pippa and four from Shelby Campbell.
Ten Butler wrestlers placed during the fifth annual George "Doc"Phillips Memorial JV Tournament last weekend at the Intermediate High School gym.Dakoda Collins at 152 pounds, Mike Scialabba at 171 and Alex Miranda at 215 won their weight classes. Zach Reges at 119, Todd Wiest at 152 and Alex Truman at 215 placed second.Brandon Bauer at 103, Cody Hartman at 130 and Sam Stuckey at 135 placed third and Matt Pribis at 160 pounds placed fourth.In other action:Knoch 8-under wrestlers Eric Green at 75 pounds and Kameron Grassi at 45 placed second and third, respectively, at the Chartiers Valley PATop 100 tourney, open division.Lucas Laughner placed fourth at 60 pounds, 8-under, novice division.
Butler's freshmen (4-1-1) rallied from a three-goal deficit to tie Hampton, 6-6, recently. Troy Double scored three goals with Jim Cannon, Tanner Gilliland and Corey Chuba adding one each. Gilliland had two assists.The team returns to action at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, facing Shaler at the Ice Connection in Valancia.The Golden Tornado junior varsity (4-3) defeated Pine-Richland, 6-3, as Matt Bartley scored three goals, Cody Bachman two and Zach Emigh one. Zach Dunkle had two assists.Butler plays Cathedral Prep at 8:30 p.m. today at the Ice Connection.In other action:The Pittsburgh Huskies improved to 8-0 after defeating the Pittsburgh Predators 3-1 and Wheeling Nailers 10-2 in PAHLPee Wee AAplay last weekend.Christian Miller scored two goals and Dustin Davis added a goal against the Predators. Troy Double had two assists and goalie Clay Bachman stopped 15 opf 16 shots.Miller scored four goals against the Nailers, Alex Welsh and Cameron Lydick two each, Nick Whann and Davis one each.The Huskies face the Southpointe Rinkrats at 12:40 p.m. Saturday at the Valley Sports Compex in New Kensington.
