Patty and Bill Walters

Bill and Patty Walters of Butler will celebrate 60 years of marriage Thursday.

Walters married the former Patty Patyka on Oct. 23, 1948, at the North Street Christian Church.

They have two children, Connie Steinberg of North Canton, Ohio, and Bill Walters of Butler. Their daughter, Nanci Lang, is deceased.

They also have six grandchildren.

Walters retired in 1973 from the Butler City Fire Department, where he was assistant chief. He also retired in 1992 from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he was fire chief and safety specialist.Mrs. Walters is a homemaker and enjoys cooking and baking.The Walterses enjoy spending time at their camp in Brookston and are members of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Butler.
