Contracts OK'd for work at BC3
BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Community College board of trustees approved more than $800,000 in contracts Wednesday, including more than $500,000 of renovations to the Pioneer Cafe.
Renovations to the student cafeteria will modernize the sitting area and update the kitchen area. Jim Hrabosky, vice president for finance and administration, said the renovations are expected to be finished by fall.
Also approved were contracts for roof repair and refinishing the floor of the field house.
The projects were made possible when the state announced in March that it had matching funds for the college if it completed the projects before Aug. 15.
The contracts awarded Wednesday include:
• R.A. Glancy & Sons of Gibsonia for general construction to the cafe, $149,000.
• East End Plumbing & Mechanical of Pittsburgh for plumbing for the cafe, $29,900.
• Fuellgraf Electric of Butler for electrical construction to the cafe, $84,750.
• Central Heating & Plumbing of New Castle for mechanical construction of the cafe, $46,630.
• Curran-Taylor of Canonsburg for food service construction to the cafe, $214,680.
• S&S Flooring of Pittsburgh for refinishing the field house floor, $28,400.
• Troy Jay Construction of Slippery Rock for repair to five roofs, $293,000.
