Andy Potyka retired from Armco in 1996, but his hard hat was still in use in Butler Township more than 10 years later.

On April 15, 2010, Potyka’s hard hat was in a tree, filled with twigs and branches by the bird who took up residence in it.

A plywood bottom, entry hole and clear plastic rain awning addition have met with the approval of the wren now nesting there. The hat remained vacant in 2009, but it lured in a tenant by April 2010.
