The Butler Junior High lacrosse team improved to 15-1 by defeating the Erie Spears and the North Hills Indians by identical 11-1 decisions recently.

Against Erie, Cody Bachman scored four goals and Jake Whann added two while Ben Tackett, Brian Bresnahan, Derek Ritenour, Hunter Ligo and Nathan Karwoski had one each.

Against North Hills, Bachman netted three goals and Michael Schneck had two goals while Alex Guiste, Tanner Kotch, Seth Horwat, Ritenour, Whann and Bresnahan also scored. Nate Monks and Ligo shared goalie duties in both contests.

Butler, which has won 10 consecutive games, will play at Hampton Saturday.

Butler edged Peters Township 7-6 when Christian Miller scored with less than two minutes remaining.Clay Bachman had two goals and two assists, and Nick Whann had one goal and two assists. Sebastian Moran, Hyte Eurich and Jake Harrison also scored for Butler (8-3), which received 13 saves from Josh Jablonski.

Northern Steel's under-12 girls soccer team won a pair of games last weekend, defeating LESCof Erie 3-1 and Buffalo United of New York, 5-1.Ally Kendall scored three goals while Aubrey McCoy had two, and Alexis Stahl, Olivia Sharbaugh and Brittany Kendall had one each.Northern Steel's under-14 boys team defeated Erie 1-0 as Asa Equels scored the lone goal.Northern Steel defeated Power Play Academy of Canada 9-1 as James Winiesky scored three goals, David Hidinger had two, and Evan McGarvey, Zach Hudac, Kyle Terrill and Alex Slomer had one each.The team also defeated ANBAcademy of Canada 7-0 as Equels scored three goals, Stephen Rodgers two, and Terrill and John Fennick one each.
