Ross

Charles R. "Chuck" Ross, 49, of Natrona Heights, formerly of Buffalo Township, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday while in the company of family members at Allegheny Valley Hospital.

Born Dec. 29, 1958, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of Charles I. and Carolyn Rowley Ross of Buffalo Township.

He graduated from Freeport High School in 1976 and attended Butler County Community College with studies in park management.

He was a member of the Freeport United Methodist Church.

He was employed as a production supervisor at Saxonburg Ceramics for 30 years before the plant closed.

He was an avid hunter in rifle, muzzleloader and archery. He made his own arrows and recurve bows. He also did his own butchering and some taxidermy. He loved spending time at his camp in Mundorf. But the thing he enjoyed most of all was spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his companion of nine years, Sharon Miksich of Brockway; two sisters, Linda, wife of James Fergus of South Buffalo Township, and Joni, wife of Chuck Lauffer of South Buffalo Township; five nieces; a nephew, and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Howard and Margaret Henry Ross and maternal grandparents, Richard and Martha Beale Rowley.

"Chuck" Ross, who died Sunday, March 16, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>REDMOND FUNERAL HOME</B>, 524 High St., Freeport.A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Freeport United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edd Myers officiating.
