Mrs. Nellie Irene Campbell, formerly of 2880 W. Avonia Road, Fairview, Erie County, has died.

Mrs. Campbell was the beloved wife of George M. Campbell Sr., who preceded her in death on May 11, 2007. They were married 59 years.

Nellie was the youngest daughter of Hugh and Lottie May (Hay) McIntyre, both deceased, of Frogtown, Armstrong County.

After a yearlong courtship, Nellie and her husband, George, were married at Brown's Chapel Methodist Church in Erie on April 9, 1948. They bought their home at 2880 West Avonia Road in 1954 and lived there until October 2006, when they became residents of Niagara Village Retirement Community.

Nellie is survived by her four children and their spouses: George M. Campbell II and his wife, Sandee, of Girard; Norman W. Campbell and his wife, Brenda, of Indianapolis, Ind.; Kevin O. Campbell and his wife, Angela, of Elkhart, Ind.; and Sandi Orban and her husband, Robert, of Glens Falls, N.Y.

Nellie is survived by her grandchildren and their spouses: Michael Hooker and his wife, Melanie, of Erie; Michael P. Campbell and his wife, Brooke, of Indianapolis, Ind.; Melissa Stewart and her husband, Jason, of South Bend, Ind.; Tara Campbell of Elkhart, Ind.; and Robert Orban Jr. and Jessica Orban of Glens Falls, N.Y.
