John N. Vrana

John N. Vrana, 88, formerly of Zelienople, died Thursday at Jameson Hospital, New Castle.

Born April 9, 1919, in New Brighton, he was the son of Michael and Anna Vrana.

He was a member of the St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, where he was a former usher and helped at the Lawn Fete for 35 years. He also belonged to the Zelienople Hungarian Club.

Mr. Vrana had worked at Luger Meats in Beaver Falls, Fort Pitt Meats in Evans City, Quik Cafe Vending and Bev-O-Matic.

During World War II, he served with the Army's 83rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Group. He was a member of the Zelienople American Legion Post 474.

He is survived by three sons, John Vrana of Harmony, Michael Vrana and his wife, Pamela, of Freedom and Julius Vrana and his wife, Kathleen, of Wexford; a brother, Clement Vrana and his wife, Rose, of New Brighton; and six grandchildren, Nicollette and Brittany Vrana of Freedom, Emily and Morgan Vrana of Harmony and Matthew and Christopher Vrana of Wexford.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia M. (Kati) Vrana, who died March 2, 1984.

<B>VRANA</B> — Friends of John N. Vrana, who died Thursday, March 6, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with the Rev. Robert Miller as celebrant. Entombment will be in the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.Memorial donations may be made to St. Gregory Catholic Church, Building Fund, 2 W.
