Cooper

Rose P. Cooper, 92, formerly of Zelienople and Cranberry Township, died Monday evening at Landis Homes in Lancaster, where she lived for the past two years.

Born Aug. 30, 1915, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of Sebastian and Mary Stifter Pellkofer.

She graduated from Zelienople High School and a business school in Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Cooper was a member of St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church and had formerly been the secretary of the Zelienople Chapter of Sixty Plus.

Rose was a strong and independent woman who will surely be missed. She never lost her great sense of humor and frequent smile. She enjoyed woodworking, ceramics, crocheting, playing cards and dancing.

Surviving are her sons, John A. Cooper Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Lancaster and James R. Cooper and his wife, Diane, of Beaver; three granddaughters, Lisa Cooper Scoma and her husband, Zachary, of Hartford, Conn., Stephanie Cooper of Monroeville and Jennifer Cooper Wilson and her husband, Paul, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a great-grandson, Micah Bryant Wilson of Phoenix.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Cooper; sisters Catherine and Delores Pellkofer; a brother, Oswald Pellkofer; and a half-sister, Anne Pond.
