Arlene M. Updegraff, 87, of Butler, formerly of Montoursville, died Sunday of Alzheimer's disease. She was being cared for at Worthington at Adams Assisted Living for the Memory Impaired in Mars.

Born Oct. 6, 1920, in Fairfield Township, she was the daughter of Walter and Alta (Fry) Fry.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Montoursville.

Surviving are a son and daughter, Calvin M. (Lynn) Updegraff and Joan M. Updegraff, both of Butler; three brothers, Gordon (Edith) Fry and Clair Fry, both of Muncy, and Jacob (Ester) Fry of Montoursville; a brother-in-law of Montoursville; and grandchildren Andrew and Julie of Houston, Texas.

Her husband, Harry M. Updegraff Jr., died Jan. 6, 1981. She also was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

<B>UPDEGRAFF </B>— Friends of Arlene M. Updegraff, who died Sunday, March 2, 2008, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at <B>Spitler Funeral Home</B>, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Jeffrey Zetto officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery.
