Wolford

Norman B. Wolford, 77, of Cranberry Township died Monday.

Mr. Wolford was an Army veteran of the Korean War and retired in 1991 after 32 years with the U.S. Postal Service.

He was one of the first members of the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Cranberry Township Ambulance Service, acting as one of the first ambulance drivers.

He also was a member of the St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church, Cranberry Township.

Mr. Wolford enjoyed antique car shows and was well known for repairing vehicles for family and friends. He was a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, who will be fondly remembered for his gentleness, faith and storytelling.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Baldinger Wolford, whom he married April 28, 1951; seven children, Edward (Elaine) Wolford of Zelienople, Patricia (Frank) Mazur of Harmony, Judy (Mark) Anderson of Hershey, James (Janet) Wolford of Connoquenessing, Jack (Tracey) Wolford of Butler and Robert (Betsy) Wolford and Charles Wolford, all of Cranberry Township. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

His father, Ross E. Wolford, died in 1971; his mother, Katherine French Wolford, died in 1998; and a brother, Charles R. Wolford, died in 1966.

Wolford, who died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home</B>, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church.
