BASKETBALL
The Butler girls seventh-grade traveling basketball team completed an undefeated regular season with a 25-24 win over Pine-Richland last weekend in the second round of the playoffs.
Mackenzie O'Donnell scored eight points, Natalie Barkus added five, Caitlin Baxter had four and Chloe Ryder had two.
Improving to 10-0, Butler went on to lose the championship game to Franklin, 33-18.
Indoor Soccer
Kyle Hinchberger scored four goals to lead the Prospect Boys and Girls under-14 team to an 8-3 victory over the Butler Tornado recently.
Quay Barnhart added two goals, with Michael Stutz and Danielle Wissinger adding one each. Jordan Marks and Levi Leonberg shared the win in goal.
Freshman Hockey
Butler split a pair of games last week, defeating Shaler 5-2 and dropping a 7-2 decision to Kittanning.
Dom Oliver recorded two goals and two assists against Shaler. Corey Chuba, Derek Ritenour and Zach Emigh netted one goal each.
Tanner Gilliland and Nick Whann scored goals for Butler in the Kittanning game. Jacob Hrip and Mike Arturo split time in goal during the two games and made 33 saves.
Butler wraps up its season at 8:20 p.m. March 6 against Fox Chapel at the Ice Connection.
