English plans campaign stop at BC3
BUTLER TWP — Seven-term U.S. Rep. Phil English, R-3rd, will make a campaign stop in Butler County Saturday afternoon to formally announce his re-election bid this year.
English is scheduled to be at Butler County Community College at 4:15 p.m. as part of a two-day announcement kickoff throughout the district, which includes most of Butler County, as well as all of Erie County and parts of Armstrong, Crawford, Mercer, Venango and Warren counties.
To date, only one Republican, John Drescher of Donegal Township, Butler County, has filed to challenge English in the April 22 primary, according to the Federal Election Commission
Democrats Kyle Foust, Tom Myers, Mike Waltner and Kathy Dahlkemper are seeking their party's nomination.
Steven Porter, who twice ran against English as a Democrat, announced he would run as an independent candidate.
