Butler's junior high football team recorded a 20-14 triumph over North Allegheny Carson.
The Golden Tornado (4-1) were led offensively by fullback Luke Jackman, quarterback Dakota Collins and tight end Travis Reed.
Linebacker Tyler Milko and cornerbacks Adam Gizinski and Jake Como stood out on defense.
Center Township completed a perfect regular season last weekend with a 19-0 victory over East Butler in Butler Area Midget Football League play at Memorial Park.Doug DeFrancis caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Zach Rader to get the Rams (6-0) on the scoreboard. Kolby Kriess intercepted a pass to set up another Center Township score — a 74-yard pass from Rader to Trevor Wideman.Wideman caught a conversion pass from Rader for a 13-0 lead. The margin expanded to 19-0 when Rader found Wideman for a 15-yard touchdown pass. An interception by Zack Collins set up the score.<B>South Butler 36, Penn Street 20 — </B>Canon Roskovski got South Butler (5-1) on the board with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Chris Cotton. Cody West added the conversion kick. Penn Street (3-3) scored on a 10-yard run by Miko Alcantara.Mick Fennell caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Roskovski and West added the kick for a 16-6 Wildcats lead. In the third quarter, Cotton scored on a 6-yard run for South Butler, answered by Keenan Barlow's 7-yard TDrun for Penn Street. Shane Wilbert threw a 10-yard conversion pass to Barlow and the score was 22-14.West returned the kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown and added the conversion kick. Christian Manny scored on a 41-yard run for the Cardinals to close the gap to 30-20. Kevin Clapper intercepted a fourth-quarter pass for South Butler, setting up Ian Bergbigler's 5-yard scoring run.<B>Meridian 13, East Side 12 — </B>Demetrios Lockley scored on a 1-yard run to give East Side (0-6) a 6-0 lead at halftime, but Meridian (2-4) rallied to victory. Jordan Cratty hooked up with Jeremy Taggert for an 85-yard touchdown pass to tie the game.Taggert then intercepted a pass and returned it to the East Side 15-yard line. Alex Scialabba scored on a 1-yard run and Cratty tossed a conversion pass to Anthony Graziani. East Side's Tom Barnhart scored on a 3-yard run with 2:14 left in the game, but the conversion kick was no good.
