Thursday — Police charged Adam Karch, 21, of Summit Township in connection with a hit-and-run accident last week.The crash occurred at 11:13 p.m. Sept. 7 when a sport utility vehicle driven by Karch and a motorcycle driven by Justin Lefevre, 27, of Butler collided at Brown and Michael avenues. Karch's SUV after the collision struck a retaining wall at a Brown Avenue home.Police said Karch fled the scene on foot. Lefevre, who was wearing a helmet, was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.Karch is charged with accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, accidents involving damage to unattended property, and an open container violation.Wednesday — Police charged David C. Butterworth, 20, of Butler for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-girl.Police filed the charges after speaking with the girl on Tuesday. The defendant is accused of having sex with the girl at least five times between July and September.Butterworth was arraigned on five counts each of statutory sexual assault and indecent assault, as well as corruption of minors. Additionally, police Monday charged the defendant with simple assault stemming from an unrelated case of domestic violence.Butter worth remains in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.Wednesday — Two concessions stands at Butler Memorial Park were reportedly broken into, and a large amount of soda and candy stolen.Among the items taken from the stand operated by the Butler Football Association were 14 cases of pop, eight cases of Gatorade and six cases of candy bars.Apolice report did not indicate if anything was taken from the other stand, operated by the Butler Baseball Association. Police believe the burglaries occurred between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.Monday — Police about 9 p.m. recovered a number of items believed to have been previously stolen from parked vehicles in the Institute Hill area.The items included a black and red compact disc case with assorted CDs, a black CD visor case with 21 CDs, a black CD visor case with 10 CDs, Motorola Talkabout radios and a Maglite flashlight.Police said the owners can claim the property by calling the station at 724-287-7743.

1:05 p.m. Monday — A vehicle driven by Faith Herman, 24, of Harmony was traveling south on Route 19 near Little Creek Road when she turned left into the path of a truck driven by Charles Burgh, 57, Harmony. Herman was transported to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for treatment of a forehead injury, police said. She received a traffic citation for vehicles turning left.7:42 p.m. Sept. 8 — A vehicle driven by Timothy Gilbert, 18, of Zelienople, was driving south on Muntz Road attempting to round a curve in the road when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree off the road. Neither he nor his passenger was injured.10:35 p.m. Sept. 6 — John Jude Kopas, 45, of 319 Laurel Drive, Cranberry Township, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to obey turning movements and required signals after police conducted a traffic stop. They witnessed the driver move from the turning lane on Route 19 into the travel lane and then turn onto Gudekunst Road without using a turn signal.11:17 p.m. Sept. 4 — Richard James Pale, 19, of Cranberry Township was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, purchasing/consuming/possessing/transporting alcoholic beverages, failing to be obedient to traffic control devices, restrictions on alcoholic beverages and minors prohibited operating a vehicle with any alcohol in his system after police saw the driver make an illegal turn from German Street on Route 68. A passenger in the vehicle, Patrick Mykola Szwez, 20, of Seven Fields was also charged with purchasing/consuming/possessing/transporting alcoholic beverages.12:36 a.m. Sept. 2 — Robert F. Flaun, 25, of Pittsburgh was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and violating general vehicle lighting requirements after police made a traffic stop at the on-ramp of Interstate 79 just off Route 68 for driving with his license plate lights not functioning.

2:13 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by John Habe, no age given, of Ford City, Armstrong County and a pickup truck driven by Robert Anderson, no age given, of Spring Church, Armstrong County collided at Routes 422 and 19 in Muddy Creek Township.Police said Habe, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.
