Ruth Irene Gruver Gearhart, 78, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Greenville, died Tuesday at the UPMC Passavant hospital, Cranberry Township.

Born Feb. 3, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of Edwin E. and Isabelle Alabran Gearhart.

She had been a nurse at the White Cliff Nursing Home until her retirement in 1995.

In 1998, she moved to Cranberry Township with her daughter, Elan, and has lived at Cranberry Place nursing home for the past four years.

She is survived by two daughters, Elan Celender of Cranberry Township and Sandy Grafton of Scio, Ore.; a son, Edwin Gruver of Reno, Nev.; two brothers, Willie and Edwin Gearhart, both of Greenville; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

<B>GEARHART </B>— A memorial service for Ruth Irene Gruver Gearhart, who died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Apostolic Church, 414 S. Main St., Greenville.
