Frances L. Porter Schmidt, 91, of Saxonburg died Sunday at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Nat-rona Heig-hts.

Born Jan. 19, 1916, in Tarentum, she was the daughter of Charles N. and Ida K. Phillips Porter.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Schmidt was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sarver, Order of the Eastern Star, Rebecca Lodge 117 and Maqueda Chapter 421.

She was a charter member of Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and Saxonburg VFW Auxiliary and a former president of the A.F.S. Exchange Student program at Knoch High School.

Surviving are a son, Keith Porter of Raleigh, N.C., and two grandchildren, Keith Craig Porter and Karrie C. Porter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Schmidt, who died in 1995, and three brothers, George, Charles and James Porter.

<B>SCHMIDT</B> — Friends of Frances L. Porter Schmidt, who died Sunday, June 17, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Deborah Huffmyer officiating.
