Jordan Sr.

Walter A. Jordan Sr., 78, of Zelienople, formerly of Gibsonia, died Saturday at the Passavant Retirement Community.

Born Sept. 3, 1928, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of John and Harriet Stark Jordan.

He was a self-employed pet groomer and started the area's first mobile animal grooming business.

Mr. Jordan loved football, especially watching high schools, and poker.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth McDermott Jordan, whom he married Aug. 27, 1955; his children, Walter A. Jordan Jr. of Butler, Dorothy Llewellyn of Worthington, Mary E. Bulger of Ingomar, W. Kurt Jordan of Florida, Karen Wyren of Texas, Joyce Decker of Canonsburg, Ellen Jordan of Bakerstown, Amy Faust of Portersville, Tom Jordan of Florida and Susan Noker of Ross Township; his grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Glendon, Nichele, Cephal, Monica, Julia, Elaine, Kelly, Megan, Kurt, Hannah, Jordan, Emma, Kendal, Presley, Ainsley, Laura, Victoria and Joshua; and a great-grandchild, Addison. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. John A. Jordan.

<B>JORDAN </B>— Friends of Walter A. Jordan Sr., who died Saturday, June 16, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Richard Roman Catholic Church.
