Marcinko

Michael John Marcinko, 87, of Butler, formerly of Portersville, died Friday.

Born Feb. 2, 1920, in Zalobin, Czechoslovakia, he was the son of Michael A. and Mary Margaret Saksun Marcinko.

He immigrated to the United States in August 1937, and during World War II, he served with the Army in the 994th Signal Co.

Mr. Marcinko retired from farming and from Babcock & Wilcox.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Surviving are his wife, Florence Geraldine Knass Marcinko, whom he married Oct. 29, 1949; a daughter and son-in-law, Delores Lorraine and Donald Leroy Taskey of Renfrew; and numerous first cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and relatives in Slovakia.

<B>MARCINKO </B>— Friends of Michael John Marcinko, who died Friday, June 15, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with the Rev. William J. Ritzert, officiating.
