Cottage

Frank G. Cottage, 87, of Butler died Monday even-ing at the home of his daughter.

Born Sept. 21, 1919, in Fair-oaks, Allegheny County, he was a son of Anthony and Apallonia Kazeplik Cottage.

He had been an automobile mechanic at Mikan Motors Pontiac garage in Butler, until his retirement in 1981. He also had worked for several other auto dealers in the Butler area.

Mr. Cottage was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

He had strawberry and black raspberry fields, large fruit orchards and vegetable gardens at his home for years.

A veteran of World War II, he had served with the Army's 9th Armored Division in Germany. He also was part of the calvary escort for funeral precessions at Arlington Cemetery.

Surviving are a son, Ronald W. Cottage and his wife, Lorraine, of Butler; a daughter, Sandra L. Osche and her husband, Earl R. Osche, of Butler; eight grandchildren, Dale, Jeffrey, Brian and Jason Cottage, Stephanie Smith, Eric and Brian Osche and Melissa Washburn; and 12 great-grandchildren, Brad, Emily, Nick, Heather and Jordan Cottage, Melissa Koebler, Jacob, Alec, Courtney and Trevor Cottage, Kylie Smith and Leilanni Osche.

He also is survived by three sisters, Mrs. William (Leona) Johns, Mrs. James (Mary) Carder and Mrs. Sam (Genevieve) Metelsky.

His wife, Mary Jeanette Holman Cottage, whom he married May 9, 1944, in Ambridge, died in February 2006. He also was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

<B>Cottage</B> — Friends of Frank G. Cottage, who died Monday, June 4, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St. The Rev. Pierre Falkenhan will officiate. Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.The Women's Council of St. Peter will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Saturday at the church.Military honors will be performed Saturday at the cemetery by the VFW Post 249 Ceremonial Squad.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
