Emil J. DeAngelis, 84, of Butler, formerly of Belle Vernon, died at 4:57 p.m. Saturday at the Sewickley Valley Hospital.

Born Dec. 28, 1922, in Monessen, he was the son of Joseph and Henrietta Narcisi DeAngelis.

He was a resident of Butler for the past 11 years and previously lived in Belle Vernon for 44 years.

Mr. DeAngelis was a former member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon.

He retired as a conductor for the Monessen South Western Railroad, a division of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel.

During World War II, he served in the Army and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.

He belonged to the United Transportation Union, the Monessen American Legion Post 28, the Monessen Sons of Italy and the 102nd Infantry Division Association "The Ozarks."

Surviving are his wife, Agnes Marinak DeAngelis, to whom he was married to for 54 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Michele DeAngelis of North Fayette; two daughters and a son-in-law, Diann DeAngelis and Denise and Terry Seilhamer, all of Butler; and a granddaughter, Becky Seilhamer.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis DeAngelis, and two sisters, Lucy Cancilla and Donetta Lemire.

Parzynski Funeral Home</B>, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon.A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Esposito, parochial vicar, as celebrant.
