Richard L. Trimble, 75, of Ellwood City died Saturday at UPMC Passavant Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Zelienople, Sept. 12, 1931, he was the son of Joseph and Augusta McConnel Trimble.

He retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 47.

Mr. Trimble enjoyed his friends and family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Herron Trimble, whom he married Jan. 2, 1954; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Steve Hessler of Ellwood City; two grandchildren, Clay and Cara Hessler; two sisters and their spouses, Alice and Andrew Mignanelli of Zelienople and Betty and Louis Sapienza of Harmony; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Billie Herron of Danville, Ky., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard M. Trimble, who died in 1979, and Patrick J. Trimble, who died in 2001; three brothers, Howard, Kenneth and Joseph Trimble; and seven sisters, Ethel Wahl, Dorothy Curry, Gladys Harter, Viola Boros, Della Barton, Kathryn Cunningham and Ellen Trimble.

Trimble, who died Saturday, April 21, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME</B>, Ellwood City.The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Bobin officiating. Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery, Ellwood City.
