David Levi Harriger, 86, of East Brady died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born May 7, 1920, in Templeton, Armstrong County, he was the son of William Wesley and Susie Katherine Bailey Harriger.

He worked and lived at the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp in Sligo in 1938. He then moved to East Brady in 1943 and worked at the Rex Hide Rubber Plant. He also drove school bus and enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.

Mr. Harriger was a Protestant.

Surviving are two sons, David B. Harriger of Derry and John K. Harriger of East Brady; a daughter, Carol A. Kjellgren of Greensburg; a brother, Frank Harriger of East Brady; a sister, Minnie Parton of Slippery Rock; a grandson, Clifford Harriger of East Brady; a granddaughter, Leslie A. Rosensteel of Bear Rock; a great-grandson, Toby Rosensteel of Bear Rock, and several nieces and nephews.

His wife, Ivy. V. Garris, whom he married April 25, 1943, died Oct. 12, 2001. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clair and Anthony Harriger; a sister, Janet Thompson, and a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Mae Harriger.

<B>HARRIGER</B> — Friends of David Levi Harriger, who died Saturday, April 21, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Varner Funeral Home</B>, 111 N. Main St., Rimersburg. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Deeter, pastor of the Wildcat Wesleyan Methodist Church, near Rimersburg, officiating. Burial will be at the Bradys Bend Cemetery.
