Osborne

Roger A. Osborne, 63, of East Erie Street in Jefferson, Ohio, died late Friday at the UHHS-Geauga Community Hospital after complications from heart surgery.

Born Oct. 29, 1943, in Wick, Slippery Rock Township, he was the son of the late James W. and Erma Wigton Osborne.

He was a Navy veteran and moved to Jefferson from Slippery Rock in 1965.

Mr. Osborne retired as truck driver for Raynor Garage Door Co. and previously was fleet supervisor at Hillside Dairy, foreman at Rosner Trucking and ran a Midas Muffler shop.

He was a collector of guns, belt buckles and model cars. He loved going for ice cream and hot dog roasts and enjoyed automobile and motorcycle painting and restoration and riding motorcycles. He loved being with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

Surviving are his wife, Dianne E. Rosner Osborne, whom he married March 23, 1963, in Harrisville; two children, Shawn M. (Kristin) Osborne and Heather L. (Jerry) Hodge, both of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Matthew, Garrett, Rachel, Taylor and Trenton; and two brothers, W. Kirby Osborne of Slippery Rock and Floyd Osborne of Butler.

He was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Melissa Osborne, who died in 1992.

Osborne, who died Friday, April 13, 2007, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors </B>funeral home, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Shirley Deemer, pastor of the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
