1:25 a.m. Thursday — Richard Yoas, 46, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on East Wayne Street. Police also cited Yoas for a traffic signal violation.5:06 a.m. Wednesday — A garbage truck driven by Timothy Edinger, 34, of Butler struck a utility pole at College and Monroe streets, and did not stop following the crash. Police cited Edinger for accidents involving damage to unattended property and driving a vehicle without valid registration.3 p.m. Wednesday — No injuries were reported when abicycle ridden by Robert M. Williams, 45, of Butler and a pickup truck driven by Charles Norris IV, 17, of Butler collided at Main and West Jefferson streets.
7:18 p.m. Tuesday — Bidian Esther Boyer, 36, of 244 Jefferson St., Evans City, lost control of her vehicle on wet Textor School Road, near Beahm Crest Lane. The vehicle spun several times and hit an embankment. No one was injured. Boyer was cited for careless driving.11:04 a.m. Saturday — A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Lindsay Road and Route 19 sent four people to the hospital. Vehicles driven by Andrea Henderson, 28, of 728 Hemlock Square, Zelienople, and Norman Fair, 67, of 123 Boydtown Road, Oakland Township, collided at the intersection. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Henderson had a cut on her neck and one of her two children, passengers in the vehicle, had an eye injury. They were treated at UPMC Passavant Cranberry. Fair complained of neck pain and was also taken to the same hospital. Police cited Henderson for failing to obey traffic control devices.8:16 p.m. April 23 — Mark Lyons, 41, of Volant, Mercer County, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving following a traffic stop near the intersection of Mercer Street and Little Creek Road.12:50 p.m. April 14 — Bridgette Jean Powers, 18, of 1015 Broadway Ave., East Butler, was charged with use/possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and purchasing/consumption/transportation of alcohol by a minor following a traffic stop on Route 68 near Thompson's Restaurant.
7:09 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by John Bellis, 51, of Butler struck a guardrail and embankment and rolled onto its roof on West Slippery Rock Road in Fairvierw Township. Bellis, who was wearing a seat belt was treated for moderate injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital.6 p.m. Thursday — Corry Alan Freehling, 25, of Butler was a free man when he went to the state police barracks in Butler Township to pay a fine stemming from a traffic case.But before he left, he was under arrest after police discovered he was wanted on a warrant in connection with a 2004 driving under the influence case. Atrooper also allegedly found Freehling with a suspected marijuana pipe.Freehling was placed in Butler County Prison on the warrant. He also faces a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.12:45 p.m. Thursday — A mini-van driven by Deborah Bell, no age given, of Boyers crashed into an embankment at Route 58 and Allison Road in Marion Township. Bell, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Bell told police the crash occurred when she swerved her van to avoid another vehicle that turned into her lane.Monday — An undisclosed number of tools were stolen between noon Sunday and 6:30 a.m. Monday from a pair of new home construction sites on Shannon Mills Drive in Connoquenessing Township. Atom Corp. of Saxonburg and James Allman Masonry of Harmony own the tools.April 27 — An unidentified vehicle struck a mailbox along Mohawk Trail in Slippery Rock Township and did not stop after the crash between 9 p.m. April 26 and 8:30 a.m. April 27. Stanley Leavitt of Slippery Rock owns the mailbox.
10:15 p.m. Wednesday — Two 19-year-old Armstrong County men were seriously injured when their speeding all-terrain vehicle crashed on Madison Road in Madison Township, Armstrong County.Andrew Charles Jackson of Templeton, the driver, was flown by medical helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Justin Johnston of Widnoon, a passenger, was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning and later transferred to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.The conditions of the men were not known this morning. Police described their injuries as "major." Neither man was wearing a helmet.Police said Jackson was traveling east on Madison Road when he lost control of the 2006 Yamaha YFZ450 ATV as it went over a hump in the road.The vehicle went off the road, hit an embankment and flipped end over end. Both riders were thrown off the ATV.Tuesday — Police charged a convicted sexual offender for failing to notify police of a new address after apparently moving from his Clay Street home in Templeton, Armstrong County.Authorities, however, still don't know the whereabouts of Bryant Lashawn Singleton, 30, who left his former home March 26.Singleton, convicted of attempted rape in 1995, is accused of violating the residency notification requirements under the state's Megan's Law. He is charged with failure to comply with requirements for registration of sexual offenders, a third-degree felony.Anyone with information about Singleton's whereabouts is asked to call the Kittanning barracks at 724-543-2011.
