Lane

Mary Olive Lane, 102, of Harmony died Saturday at her home.

Born Sept. 13, 1904, in Dennison, Ohio, she was the daughter of James Alexander and Caroline Kinsey Long.

She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Zelienople and had been the organist at the Roxford United Methodist Church in Ohio and taught Sunday school at College Park Presbyterian Church, Beaver Falls. She was a former board member of the Butler County Food Cupboard.

Mrs. Lane was the oldest living member of Kappa Delta sorority at Mount Union College, Ohio. She was the best grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother in the whole-wide world and her Thanksgiving pumpkin pies and Christmas cookies are treasured memories. She was an avid gardener. She traveled all over the world and enjoyed visiting missionaries in Newfoundland.

She continued to drive until she was 97; and most recently, she enjoyed watching Cornerstone Television, birdwatching and visits from her grandchildren. Her passion for life came from her love of Jesus.

Surviving are four grandchildren, Donna Zeigler and her husband, Brad, and Carol Tomayko and her husband, Tom, all of Harmony, Kathy Blocki and her husband, Martin, of Richland Township and Dr. James W. Lane and his wife, Brenda, of Erie. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Emerson Lane, who died Jan. 5, 1980; a son, W. Bruce Lane, who died Nov. 12, 1992; a brother, Hugh Long, and a sister, Martha Barter.

<B>LANE </B>— A celebration of life for Mary Olive Lane, who died Saturday, March 31, 2007, will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 215 N. Main St., Zelienople, with the Rev. William Brewer officiating. The family will receive friends in Strobel Hall at the church immediately following the service. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery, Beaver Falls.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Life Outreach International, P.O.
