Wigton

Paul E. Wigton, 74, of Sugarcreek Rest Home, formerly of North Road, Franklin Township, died at 10:05 a.m. Friday at the rest home.

Born May 6, 1932, in Butler, he was the son of Clyde Oris Wigton and Edelle Thompson Wigton.

He was a veteran of the Army, serving in the military police in Japan during World War II.

After his military service, he worked for Louis Ziegel's garage as a mechanic, as well as driving a steel truck. He later worked at Pullman Standard until the plant closed, and he retired as a mechanic for the Butler School District.

He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the VFW Joseph T. Black Post 249, American Legion Post 117 Butler, the Moose Lodge of Chicora and the Prospect Men's Club.

Mr. Wigton enjoyed repairing clocks, hunting, farming and gardening. He and his late wife operated Paul's Produce, where they grew and sold vegetables.

He was married to Ruth M. Snodgrass Herman on June 29, 1986. She preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 2001.

Surviving are a stepson, Robert N. Herman of Butler; a stepdaughter, Patricia M. Barnes of Meridian; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

<B>Wigton</B> — Friends of Paul E. Wigton, who died Friday, March 16, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>THE THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 124 E. North St.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
