Gardasil

Tom from North Carolina objects to the confiscation of his wages to pay for vaccination. I sympathize with this objection however, it makes more fiscal sense to vaccinate against HPV than pay for treatments for genital warts, cervical dysplasia (a precancerous lesion), and cervical cancer. Also, the major objection to this vaccine is religiously based, not fiscal, and therefore should be inconsequential in governmental decision making. Tom also mentions parental notification--an issue which no one (including Govenor Perry) disagrees.

Florence from Center Township writes that she is not sure about mandating the vaccine. I think that each school should come to a conclusion regarding this vaccine and public schools (as a part of government) should not use the Religious Right's objection to the vaccine as a criterion for rejection.

Tanya from Pittsburgh some up my sentiments exactly regarding the opposition to the vaccine against HPV mounted by the Religious Right.
