Fred O. Zitzman
Fred O. Zitzman, 85, of Cabot died Tuesday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights.
Born April 2, 1921, in Saxonburg, he was the son of Oscar and Laura Beckman Zitzman.
He served with the Army in the South Pacific during World War II.
Mr. Zitzman retired in 1982 as a foreman for the US Steel Isabella and Fairless Works after 41 years.
He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Butler, the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683 and the Saxonburg VFW Post 7376. He was one of the founders of the Hope Lutheran Church in Levittown.
An 18-year resident of Concordia Haven, he was a member the Resident Advisory Committee, the Legacy Society and he served on the Chapel Committee.
He enjoyed golfing.
Surviving are his wife, Leona Rodler Forster, whom he married May 4, 2001; a brother, Albert Zitzman of Rimersburg, and a sister, Mrs. Edna Batcher of West Chester.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Clara Buckholz Zitzman, who died Jan. 26, 1989, and two brothers.
<B>ZITZMAN</B> — Friends of Fred O. Zitzman, who died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Manwell and the Rev. Jack Hartman officiating.
