Clare 'Bud' Bieber

Clare W. "Bud" Bieber, 73, of Lancaster Township died Tuesday at the UPMC Passavant hospital, Cranberry Township.

Born April 13, 1933, in Lancaster Township, he was the son of Ralph H. and Beulah L. Domhoff Bieber.

He was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Middle Lancaster.

Mr. Bieber also was a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Steam Engine and Old Equipment Association and attended numerous steam engine shows throughout the region. He was an avid collector of antique washing machines and old-fashioned farm equipment.

He enjoyed hunting.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammy L. McLay and her husband, Wayne, of Zelienople and Paula Nicklas and her husband, Bryan, of Evans City; two sons, Wayne A. Bieber and his wife, Leetta, of Harmony and Bruce W. Bieber of Ellwood City; a brother, Robert Bieber of Connoquenessing; and four sisters, Charlotte Bupp of Butler, Fay Collins and Sally Davis, both of Harmony, and Janet Bintrim of Portersville. Four grandchildren, Jenna McLay and Jacob, Adam and Sara Nicklas, also survive.

He was preceded in death by his "Strawberry Girl," his wife of 41 years, Sally Ann Hutchins Bieber, who died Feb. 21, 2006; two sisters, Olive Farinelli and Erma Plesniak; and two brothers, Gerald and William Bieber.

<B>BIEBER</B> — Friends of Clare W. "Bud" Bieber, who died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway (Route 19), Harmony, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
