Naomi Sheesley

Naomi Sheesley, 79, of Turkey City, Clarion County, died at 7:40 a.m. Sunday at Golden Living Center, Shippenville.

Born May 19, 1927, in St. Petersburg, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Ray and Elva Nevel Smith.

She was the postmaster at the Turkey City Post Office for 38 years, and she and her husband were the sole proprietors of Sheesley's Store, which occupied the same building as the post office, for 38 years.

Mrs. Sheesley attended Turkey City Church of God and was active in the Ladies Guild of the church. She also was a member of the Golden Rule Club.

She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking and her grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters, Dora Crawford of Emlenton, Donna Rodgers of Forestville and Patricia Landers of Emlenton; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Doyle (Jennie E.) Leming of Harrisville, Miss.; four sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Calvin L. Sheesley, whom she married Sept. 9, 1943, died Jan. 8, 1997. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers, a son-in-law, a nephew and a niece.

<B>SHEESLEY</B> — Friends of Naomi Sheesley, who died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at <B>Hile Funeral Home</B>, 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Peters officiating.
