Helen Zahradnik, 91, of 213 Maple Ave. died Friday afternoon in her home.

Born in Czechoslovakia on May 21, 1915, she was the daughter of John and Cecelia Richnak.

Mrs. Zahradnik was a homemaker and had worked at the Pullman-Standard Cafeteria on Hansen Avenue.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Slovak Sokol.

She is survived by her son, John M. Zahradnik of Butler; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Zahradnik was preceded in death by her husband, Michael P. "Mike" Zahradnik Jr., who died Dec. 5, 2005; a daughter; two brothers, and three sisters.

<B>ZAHRADNIK — </B>Friends of Helen Zahradnik, who died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the<B> MARTIN FUNERAL HOME,</B> 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael's will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Monday to conduct a Scriptural Wake Service.
