Marie L. Selfridge Thompson, 79, of Butler died Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 19, 1926, she was the daughter of Gurn E. and Rose E. Gallaher Selfridge.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Thompson, whom she married Aug. 6, 1947; two sons, Ronald Thompson of Glenshaw and Douglas Thompson of Butler; a brother, Robert V. Selfridge of Summerville, N.J.; a sister, Betty Lou Selfridge Sipullo of Pittsburgh, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
