Betty Donaldson
Betty T. Donaldson, 94, formerly of Harrisville, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, at Orchard Manor.
Betty was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Barkeyville, and was the daughter of the late Elmer G. and Myrtle “Blair” Martin.
Betty graduated from Grove City High School in 1950.
Betty was married to W. Richard Turner until his passing on June 15, 1974. She later married Wayne Donaldson. Wayne passed Aug. 23, 2019.
Betty took over the daily running of Turner Insurance after her husband, Richard, passed away and until her son, Gary, took over the business. Betty retired in 1986 from Turner Insurance. She was a member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Barkeyville United Methodist Church as well. She was active in the Missionary Society of the church.
Betty enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting, having made numerous items that her family will treasure. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and her beloved recipes have been passed down to her grandchildren — each one written in her beautiful handwriting. Camping was one of Betty’s favorite pastimes and she traveled with Wayne throughout the United States during their retirement. She especially enjoyed her winters in Florida and the friends she made there.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Jill Kellogg, and her husband, Joe, of Slippery Rock; her son, Jay W. Turner, and his wife, Carol, of Powell, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Wendy Turner, of Grove City; and her stepchildren, Mark Donaldson, and his wife, Patti, and Lynn D. Scarnati. Five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous stepgrand- and stepgreat-grandchildren also survive.
Betty was welcomed into heaven by her parents; husbands; her daughter, Amy Turner Bryan; her son, Gary Turner; and a brother, Paul Martin, and his wife, Vivian.
