JACKSON TWP — Dean Berkebile and Robert Hill will lead the Seneca Valley School Board again in 2007 as president and vice president, respectively.
Berkebile was elected by a 6 to 3 vote Monday, with board members Tom Roth, Ken Brennan and Paul Adametz voting against. Brennan was also nominated for the post.
This will be Berkebile's sixth term as board president.
Hill, the only nominee for vice president, was elected unanimously.
The board's next meeting will be at 8 p.m. Jan. 8 in the intermediate high school auditorium
BUTLER TWP — The community is invited to celebrate the season by taking a ride through Butler County Community College's luminary-lit campus in a horse-drawn trolley as part of the college's Light-Up Night.It will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 14 at the main campus.The celebration, in recognition of the winter solstice, will also include seasonal music, hot drinks, cookies, crafts, games and activities for children. JEFFERSON TWP— Concordia Lutheran Ministries will hold a fundraising dinner Dec. 14 for the residents who lost belongings in a devastating fire last month.The dinner will raise money to provide necessities for the residents affected by the Nov. 5 fire at Haven I independent living facility. Under a grant by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, all money raised will go to the residents.The cocktails start at 6 p.m. at the Butler Country Club. Dinner and entertainment begins at 7 p.m.Tickets are $50.
