Darby and the cheers

Darby, you missed the point of the letters. You can compete in clothes that allow you some modesty and without war paint. The local high school squads have rules against provacative moves and revealing clothing while representing the school. They would never allow 18 year-olds to wear those outfits. This really is another case of parents gone wild. Those little girls were painted up to look like anything but innocent girls. shame on the parents and any coach that would encourage it. My daughters cheered and danced competitively. They would have been embarrassed to go out in public dresses that way. Put tee-shirts and gym shorts on and you can then be judged on merit not on seduction.
