Frances M. Ference, 88, a 53-year resident of La Grange, Ill., died July 1 at the La Grange Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 13, 1918, in St. Louis, Mo., and had lived in Butler at one time.

She was a member of the La Grange Women's Club, the La Grange Newcomers, the Countryside Seniors, the St. Cletus Leisure Loafers and the American Legion Post 1941 Auxiliary.

Mrs. Ference enjoyed craft and bridge groups.

Surviving are her husband, Peter Ference; her children, Richard (Betty), David (Sheila) and Michael; a sister, Rosemary (Anthony) Immaker of Florida; five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
