Accreditation given for BC3 programs
BUTLER TWP— Middle States Commission on Higher Education gave Butler County Community College 43 commendations in its reaffirmation of accreditation.
The college was told of the accreditation Tuesday.
"It confirms our progress as an institution and ensures continued quality education and financial aid opportunities for our students," Cynthia Azari, president of BC3, said of the accreditation.
The college was commended for its public safety, graphic design and distance education programs. FACETS, the art and literary magazine, also was recognized.
MiddleStates is a peer-based organization that evaluates the quality of higher education. To be accredited, the college completed a self-study and underwent a visiting team evaluation.
