The X-Cel Gymnastics All-Star Cheerleading squads recently wrapped up another successful season. Based in Cranberry Township, X-Cel will be holding tryouts for next season for the Mini, Junior and Senior squads April 3, 6 and 8. For information, call 724-772-0055 or xcelcheer@hotmail.com.

Mini SquadThis group, made up of cheerleaders age 5 through second grade, finished first at the Cheer Nation competition, held March 18 and 19 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.It also claimed the Champion Cheer Central event, Elite State Championship, Atlantic Championship and was crowned national champion at the 2006 JamFest.

Junior SquadComprised of students in grades three through six, the Junior Squad closed the season with a third-place finish at Cheer Nation.Before that, it placed first at Cheer Central, second at the Atlantic Championship and third at both the U.S. Sprint Regional and JamFest.

Senior SquadCheerleaders in grades seven through 12 placed second at Cheer Nation and were awarded first place at JamFest.
