Goals by Steve Phelps, Keifer O'Neil, Zach Carben and Tanner Master helped the Armstrong Arrows Midget 16-U AA hockey team defeat the Huskies 5-1 last weekend at the Belmont Complex.

Cam Lang earned the win in net for the Arrows (1-1).

The Arrows later defeated the Mon Valley Thunder, 5-2, as Carben scored two goals. Ian Ferguson, Evan Blodgett and O'Neil added one each.

In other recent Armstrong Amateur Hockey League action:

Armstrong's Cameron Langham made eight saves in an 11-0 win over the Southpointe Rink Rats at the Belmont Complex.Dustin Davis, Troy Double and Christian Miller each scored two goals while Conner Blose, Tanner Chuba, Evan Cravener, Cody Toy and Jesse Valasek each had one.Solomon Reed added three assists while Chuba, Double, Valasek and Dimitri Marrese had two apiece and Clay Bachman, Nick Whann, Blose, Miller and Toy one each for the Arrows (3-0).

Improving to 3-0, the Armstrong Arrows had goals from Kevin Valasek (2) and Ian Cole while Cody Lee stopped 17 of 18 shots in a 3-1 win over the Allegheny Badgers at the Belmont Complex.Jake Whann assisted on both Valasek goals and Shayne Hennessy on Cole's goal.In a previous game, Cody Bachman tallied two goals and Valasek added a goal and assists in a 3-2 Armstrong win at Bethel Park Bladerunners.Hennessy and Jordan Ford also had assists for the Arrows.

Armstrong dropped a 6-2 decision to Southpointe at Kittanning, then a 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Amateur Penguins at Harmarville the next day.Against Southpointe, Chris Atherton had a goal and assist and Trevor Gilliland the other goal for the Arrows (0-2). In the loss to the Pens, Gilliland scored the lone goal.

Jake Enders scored three goals and Gordon Greenbaum, Shane Gallagher and Josh Miller had one apiece, but the Arrows fell to the Pittsburgh Predators at Ice Castle.Miller and Alex Fiscus had two assists each and Enders and John Reichenbaugh had assists for the Arrows (0-1).

At the Valley Sports Complex, the Greater Pittsburgh Huskies blanked the Arrows 10-0, ringing up 27 shots in the process.

The Arrows had 41 shots on goal, but the The Pittsburgh Amateur Penguins won 2-0.The loss dropped the Arrows to 1-1-1.
