11:42 a.m. Monday — Kathleen Lutz, 70, of Butler, was injured when the vehicle she was driving struck an unoccupied delivery truck parked on the 500 block of Whitestown Road. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries. Her vehicle had to be towed.Monday — Megan L. Gibson, 31, of Butler was charged in connection with a suspected overdose last month in Lyndora. Police said they found her on Regina Street following a call around 5:50 p.m. July 28.Patrolman Drew Blasko reported that Gibson appeared bluish and purple, and she was not breathing normally. He believed she was having an overdose and administered two doses of Narcan, according to court documents. She woke up as a Butler Ambulance Service crew arrived.Gibson denied overdosing or taking any drugs. Police said they found a plastic bag next to her. The bag contained six empty stamp bags, other suspected drug contraband and two phones. The defendant denied ownership of the items.When police advised Gibson to call for a ride, she told them she did not have a phone. Blasko pulled out the phones from the plastic bag, and “Gibson stated those were her phones,” documents said.She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.Monday — Police reported the theft of a 28-foot aluminum ladder and 24 feet of scaffolding from behind a business on Evans Road near the University Korner store in Bon Aire. The stolen items were taken between July 24 and 27. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.12:46 p.m. Saturday — One person was injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on the 300 block of New Castle Road. The wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by Donovan J. Schroeder, 20, of Chicora, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Shawn Nelson, 44, of Butler.In turn, police said, Nelson's vehicle was pushed into a vehicle driven by Robert Scott, 76, of Butler. Nelson suffered a minor injury, but he refused medical treatment. Police cited Schroeder for driving too fast for conditions and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.2:54 p.m. Friday — Shellie R. Bergbigler, 48, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting after police said employees at the Butler Commons' Walmart saw switched bar codes on two vacuum cleaners. She is accused of scanning the lower priced item's bar code at a self-checkout register.Police said Bergbigler paid $34.88 for a $329 vacuum cleaner. She is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of retail theft.

9:09 a.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Valerie A. Bres, 45, of Prospect backed into a commercial vehicle that was parked on Country Lane Road in Prospect. Police cited her for improperly backing a vehicle.3:03 p.m. Sunday — Donald J. Thomas, 19, of West Sunbury, was injured when he apparently fell asleep and lost control of his car before overturning on Route 38 in Oakland Township. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with apparent minor injuries. His car was towed.Police cited Thomas for disregarding traffic lanes and driving on the wrong side of the road.9:54 p.m. Saturday — Marissa S. Matis, 26, of Butler, lost control of her car and struck a concrete culvert on Schnur Road in Summit Township. Police said she suffered a minor injury and fled the scene. Her car had to be towed.Matis was cited for hit-and-run, disregarding traffic lanes and driving too fast for conditions.8:29 p.m. Saturday — Ronald E. Harnish, 49, of Butler, suffered minor injuries when he laid down his motorcycle on Route 68 in Chicora. He was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital. Police said Harnish, who was not wearing a helmet, was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.5:34 p.m. Saturday — One person was injured when a car crashed into an embankment on Valvoline Drive, east of Linwood Drive in East Butler. The driver, Patricia L. Cullen, 36, of New Kensington, Westmoreland County, suffered an apparent minor injury.2:34 p.m. Friday — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Worth Township. The wreck occurred when cars driven by Christopher M. Payne, 20, of Imperial, Allegheny County, and Elizabeth L. Smart, 31, of New Castle, collided on Route 108.Smart and her passenger, Dirisha D. Brown, 24, of New Castle, both suffered apparent minor injuries. Smart's car had to be towed. Police cited Payne for improperly entering or crossing a road.
