March 9 — Police charged Melinda I. Hillard, 30, with having drug contraband stemming from a welfare check earlier this month at her apartment on North Elm Street. While at the home March 3, police said, officers found numerous empty stamp bags, a crack pipe and metal spoon in her bedroom. Hillard is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.March 6 — Russell L. Little, 55, of Lyndora was charged with driving during suspension-DUI related earlier this month at East Cunningham and South McKean streets. Police said they pulled him over about 8:45 p.m. March 1 after they saw him going the wrong way on South McKean Street. Little, who has five convictions for the suspended license offense, a misdemeanor, is considered a habitual offender, according to court documents.

11:40 a.m. Tuesday — No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Route 68 that happened when Matthew R. Tilko, 31, of Butler tried passing the other driver, Betty Lehew, 86, of Butler. Lehew's vehicle was towed.Police cited Tilko for improperly passing another vehicle, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without valid inspection and an emissions inspection violation.6:11 p.m. March 12 — A vehicle driven by Ruby E. Younker, 64, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle as she crested the hill on South Duffy Road toward New Castle Road. The collision set off a four-vehicle pileup involving seven people, according to a police report. Younker was the only person injured. Police cited her for driving at an unsafe speed.

7:09 p.m. Monday — A male was injured in an unspecified crash at a home on Willow Drive in Summit Township. Police did not release the name of the victim, who complained of severe leg pain. He was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries.3:06 a.m. Monday — One student at the Summit Academy reform school was arrested and another student suffered a broken jaw during an altercation at the facility on Herman Road in Summit TownshipPolice said they charged the suspect, a 16-year-old boy from Cleveland, Ohio, with aggravated assault in Butler County juvenile court. The victim is a 17-year-old boy from East Stroudsburg, Monroe County. Police did not release the names of the boys.1:11 a.m. Saturday — Jerrod Patterson, 30, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the area of Beaver Dam Road and Demi Lane in Clay Township.12:09 p.m. March 6 — Suzann M. Sullivan, 61, of Hilliards was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck on Route 38 just south of North Washington Road in Washington Township. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Police said the crash happened when David A. Anzaldi, 63, of Evans City lost control of his pickup truck during a heavy snow squall and collided with the sport utility vehicle that Sullivan was driving. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Wednesday — Police reported that an unknown identity thief used debit/credit cards belonging to a Slippery Rock Township couple between Feb. 3 and 5 to make unauthorized purchases Walmart and Amazon. The purchases included an Apple iPad and Apple Watch totaling $768.
