3:32 a.m. Saturday — Shawn M. Crusan, 34, of Prospect lost control of a pickup truck and drove in a culvert on Greenwood Drive at Route 422. The truck struck a drainage pipe, spun around and ended back on the road.

Police said Crusan fled the scene of the crash. He was cited for failing to immediately notify police of an accident, careless driving and driving without a license.

10:30 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Brandon M. Boyle, 18, of Butler struck a set of guardrails and a utility pole on Lions Road at Wyncrest Drive. He was not injured. The crash knocked out power in the Meridian area for several hours.

Police cited Boyle for driving too fast for conditions, careless driving, disobeying traffic control devices and a stop sign violation.

4:04 a.m. Friday — Marcus T. McCall, 22, of Slippery Rock was injured when he lost control of his car and struck a tree along Bradman Estates Trail in Slippery Rock Township. The car ended on its roof and on the road. McCall suffered unknown injuries.

A police report noted the crash is suspected driving under the influence-related, but no charges have been filed.

11:06 p.m. Thursday — Police did not release the name of the driver of a Jeep Compass that struck an unspecified pole after traveling onto the front yard of a home on Bonniebrook Road in Jefferson Township.

7:06 a.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by James B. Willison, 35, of Butler One person was injured in a three-vehicle wreck in Forward Township. The crash occurred when a tractor-trailer driven by Hunter W. Metzker, 19, of Williamsburg, Blair County, struck a car and a pickup on Route 68 just south of Oak Drive.

The rig, following the collision, hit a sign. Michael W. Taylor, 37, of Pittsburgh was driving the car and Rhonda L. Swagger, 55, of New Springfield, Ohio, was driving the pickup. Swagger’s passenger, William C. Schlemmer, 41, of New Castle, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with an apparent minor injury.

Police cited Metzker for following too closely to another vehicle, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

7:25 a.m. Jan. 18 — No one was injured when a car driven by Malcolm A. Smith, 40, of Slippery Rock struck a another car that was disabled with a flat tire on the Interstate 79 off-ramp in Jackson Township. Maggie L. Whitling was the other driver. Police said Whitling had pulled over after her car’s front passenger tire became flat.

Both vehicles had to be towed. Smith was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
