POLICE REPORTS

The following items were gathered from various police departments:

1:25 a.m. Nov. 3 — While responding to a disabled motorist, police arrested and charged a 21-year-old man from Slippery Rock for driving under the influence.

10:35 p.m. Oct. 31 — Nathan J. Book, 38, of Harrisville was driving north on Prospect Road when he crashed into a tree. Book allegedly fled the scene before police arrived. He related to police that the crash was the result of avoiding a deer.

9:15 p.m. Oct. 31 — While driving east on W. Liberty Road, Meghan A. McKinney, 21, of Eau Claire crashed into a tree that had fallen onto the road. She was uninjured, but her car had to be towed.

9:21 a.m. Oct. 31 — Timothy E. Mitchell, 38, of Evans was driving west on Hall Road and he allegedly didn't stop when he came to a red light at the intersection with Route 8, causing another car driving south on Route 8 to hit his car. Mitchell was flown to UPMC Presbyterian for unknown injuries.

8:54 a.m. Oct. 27 — A 48-year-old woman's bank account was used to make unauthorized transactions amounting to $85.84. The victim was reimbursed for the charges, but police haven't named a suspect.

3:26 p.m. Oct. 21 — A 14-year-old from Prospect allegedly sent a threatening text message to his old phone, thinking that it was deactivated. It wasn't. A 24-year-old from Butler received the message, resulting in the 14-year-old facing charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. Police said the text message was sent as a joke and that there was no plot.

11:42 a.m. Nov. 2 — Police said they pulled a car over when they noticed the passenger didn’t have his seat belt on. The passenger allegedly refused to identify himself and then provided a false name. Police discovered that the passenger’s name was Justin P. Rape, 31, of Russellton, Allegheny County. It was discovered Rape had a felony warrant out for burglary in West Deer, Allegheny County. He was transported to Allegheny County Jail, where correction officers allegedly found Rape hiding drugs and paraphernalia in his genital area.
