Aug. 23 — Police obtained an arrest warrant for James J. Gautreau, 46, of Butler in connection with a July domestic dispute at his apartment on the 400 block of West New Castle Street.He is accused of assaulting and threatening an ex-girlfriend July 26. Officers spoke to the alleged victim Aug. 4 at Butler Memorial Hospital. She said she was afraid of the defendant.Gautreau allegedly grabbed her by the neck and shoved her head into the steel door. She recounted that he dragged her through the apartment and told her that he was “going to kill her,” according to court documents.He is charged in the warrant with terroristic threats and simple assault.6:10 p.m. Aug. 22 — Philip P. Heupel, 33, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly returned to the Butler County Assistance Office on Woody Drive, having been warned to stay away for the day.Police said they were initially called to the office for Heupel causing a disturbance. An officer supervisor told the defendant that he was not welcome there for the rest of the day due to his behavior.In turn, according to court documents, police advised Heupel that if he returned, he was be arrested. Thirty minutes later, he allegedly showed up again.He is charged with disorderly conduct and defiant trespass.

Aug. 14 — Samantha B. Miller, 25, of Butler was cited for trespass in connection with a July incident at the Butler Commons' Walmart. Police said Miller allegedly was found at the store around 1 p.m. July 24 after having previously been barred from going there.8:12 p.m. Aug. 13 — Wayne E. Eakin, 54, of Butler allegedly lost control of his vehicle, struck an embankment and rolled over on Crisswell Road. He and a passenger, a 22-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.Police cited Eakin for driving too fast for conditions.Aug. 9 — Derek J. Ezatoff, 27, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from an incident at McCalmont and Meridian roads.Ezatoff is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving.

Wednesday — Shane M. Abbott 20, of Butler Township was charged with drunken driving and having LSD and medication without a prescription stemming from a May 21 traffic stop at North Main and West Pearl streets in Butler.A search of his vehicle, according to court documents, turned up LSD and a bottle for alprazolam. A blood test later allegedly showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.059 percent.In Pennsylvania, drivers under age 21 are considered to be intoxicated with a blood-alcohol level of 0.02 percent or higher.Abbott is charged with driving under the influence by a minor, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and four traffic offenses.2:40 p.m. Tuesday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash in Jefferson Township. The wreck occurred when a car driven by Angela M. Kovacs, 25, of Freeport allegedly struck a minivan on Route 356 just west of Marwood Road.The van, driven by Debra A. Bartos, 58, of Pittsburgh, in turn struck a sport utility vehicle driven by Linda J. Sudano, 53, of Sarver, according to a police report.7:05 a.m. July 19 — A van driven by Austin L. Fleeger, 21, of Slippery Rock allegedly crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck on Sunset Drive just north of Virginia Lane in Center Township. Christian B. Knauss, 32, of Evans City was the other driver.No one was injured, but the van had to be towed. Police cited Fleeger for driving on the wrong side of the road, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and failing to notify authorities of a change of address.
