12:12 p.m. Aug. 25 — Abraham Smith, 87, of West Sunbury failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a vehicle driven by Richard Cupps, 62, of Butler at the intersection of Route 8 and Beech Road, police said. There were no injuries reported, but Smith's vehicle was towed from the scene.

11:13 a.m., Aug. 25 — Russell Eury, 37, of Pittsburgh attempted to change lanes on Route 422, according to police, and struck a vehicle driven by Jolene Covert, 41, of Butler. Covert's vehicle was towed from the scene, and no injuries were reported.

2:28 a.m. Aug. 10 — Robert C. Dight, 55, of Butler was arrested for DUI after a traffic stop at Brugh and Freemont avenues in Butler.Police said they subsequently took Dight for a breath test, which indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.082 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.He is charged with DUI, failing to use turn signals, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

3:33 p.m. Aug. 5 — Dominic L. Welter, 20, of Butler suffered road burns when he lost control of his motorcycle on Route 422 just west of Old Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township. He was taken to UPMC Jameson in New Castle for minor injuries.Police said he was not wearing a helmet.11:37 p.m. July 31 — Lidia Cornelio, 48, of Sharon and Nicholas E. Paglialong, 27, of New Castle were arrested on charges of driving under the influence following an accident on Route 422. Police say Cornelio was driving without headlights on the wrong side of the road and swerved into another vehicle when Paglialong entered the center turning lane to avoid a head-on collision. Both were arrested following a field sobriety test, and a passenger, Kaitlyn C. Micco, 22, of New Castle, was taken to UPMC-Jameson with unknown injuries.Cornelio is charged with DUI of both alcohol and controlled substances. Paglialong is charged with driving under the influence of controlled substances.
