POLICE REPORT

These items have been collected from various police departments.

12:59 a.m. Friday — Shanna R. Robison, 31, of Butler was charged with having crack cocaine, heroin and prescription painkiller stemming from an incident June 19 outside a downtown store.

Police said they came upon an occupied car in the parking lot of the Rite Aid, which was closed. When officers approached the car, according to court documents, the driver, later identified as Robison, and a passenger got out.

An officer noticed burned marijuana cigarette on the center console, according to court documents. Robison allegedly admitted to having smoked marijuana earlier.

Additionally, documents said, she admitted to having crack and pills in her bra, and Suboxone in her purse. A female Butler Township police officer was called to assist in a search of Robison.

Police said the defendant handed over a plastic bag corner containing suspected crack and eight pills of hydrocodone, an opioid painkiller.

In her purse, documents said, police found Suboxone and a small Ziploc bag containing suspected heroin.

Robison is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana.

3:59 p.m. Saturday — A 5-year-old boy was hurt in a one-vehicle crash on at Delwood and Zenith roads. The child was riding in a car driven by Timothy Lavery, 16, of Sarver.Police said Lavery lost control of the car on the wet roads and got stuck in a ditch. The boy suffered a minor head injury. The car had to be towed.4:06 p.m. June 24 — Police got the dirt on a pair of alleged shoplifters accused in the theft of potting soil at the Ace Hardware store at the Greater Butler Mart.Charged with conspiracy to commit theft are Tara C. Purcell, 40, of Pittsburgh and Crystal R. Hayes, 41, of Homestead, Allegheny County. Purcell is also charged with retail theft.Police said the woman are suspected in the theft of two Miracle-Gro Potting Mix bags that were outside the store as part of a sidewalk display.4:40 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Brooke Fisher, 21, of Butler rear-ended a pickup truck driven on Route 356 north just east of the Butler Commons' shopping plaza. Jay Keefer, 21, of Butler was the other driver.Neither driver was injured but Fishers car had to be towed.

12:32 a.m. June 26 — Randolph W. Maynard, 42, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend at their home at the Port-O-Call trailer park.The woman told police that Maynard grabbed her face and slammed her into the side of a refrigerator, according to court documents. He is accused of shoving her onto the floor, grabbing her by the ankles and dragging her into the bedroom.The woman said the defendant also threatened to kill her. Police described her injuries as being a scrape and cut about 8 inches long on the right side of her neck, and swelling on her upper lip with a small amount of blood on it.Maynard was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He was released on $6,000 unsecured bail following arraignment.

Monday — Joshua M. Tassone, 29, of Pittsburgh was charged with forging two checks belonging to Aiken Farms in Muddy Creek Township, and depositing the checks into a bank account that he could access. Tassone is charged with felony counts of forgery, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.12:54 a.m. Friday — An unknown vandal drove a red pickup truck through the yard of a 50-year-old woman's home on Hillvue Lane. Damage to the grass was estimated at $100.June 24 — Eric B. Berger, 40, of Winfield Township was charged with being more than two-and-a-half times the state's legal limit for alcohol in May when he crashed his car in Winfield Township.Police said the one-vehicle wreck happened about 10:20 p.m. May 6 when Berger's car ended partially in a ditch on Sarver Road. He claimed he swerved the vehicle to miss a raccoon.Berger failed field sobriety tests, according to court documents, and he was taken to the barracks for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.22 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.He is charged with driving under the influence, driving on the wrong side of the road, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.June 24 — Police charged Alexander L. McCandless, 24, of Winfield Township with drugged driving stemming from a May speeding stop in Penn Township. He was stopped about 8 p.m. May 24 for traveling 70 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 8 near Renfrew Road.McCandless admitted that he had smoked marijuana before driving, according to court documents, and he subsequently showed impaired during field sobriety testing.Police took him to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which indicated he had marijuana and the prescription drug trazodone in his system.McCandless is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance speeding and a seat belt violation.

3 a.m. Sunday — Two boys reportedly escaped from the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility in Pine Township. The escapees, both of Grove City, are 15 and 16.
