3:01 p.m. Monday — Vehicles driven by Joanne Lippold, 72, and Aaron Tolfa, 33, both of Butler, collided on Benbrook Road. There were no injuries, but one of the vehicles had to be towed.

Jan. 3 — Kathryn E. Pugachow, 66, of Butler was charged with a November shoplifting incident at the Butler Commons Walmart.

Police said Pugachow attempted to make off with $78.98 in merchandise from the store around 10 p.m. Nov. 30. She fled, but police later found her.

She is charged with misdemeanor retail theft. Police also cited her for summary and traffic offenses, including disorderly conduct, driving without lights to avoid identification or arrest and reckless driving.

3:40 p.m. Monday — An unknown hit-and-run driver in a Toyota Tundra struck the back of another vehicle in Concord Township. No injuries were reported.

The suspect, according to a police report, was traveling south on Route 38 just north of Hooker Road when the pickup truck rear-ended a southbound car that was slowing to turn.

The pickup driver fled. The other driver, Joseph A. Sierko, 45, and his passenger, both of Clarion, were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.

Police noted that the truck sustained minor front-end damage in the crash. The car also had minor back-end damage,

11 a.m. Monday — Kimberly S. Graham, 55, of Fenelton suffered an apparent minor injury in a one-vehicle accident in Donegal Township blamed on icy roads.

Police said Graham was northbound on Chicora Fenelton Road near the Happy Hunters Sportsman’s Club when her pickup truck began to fishtail. The truck struck an embankment on the east side of the road and rolled onto its side.

She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for unspecified injuries. Police said she was wearing a seat belt.

The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department and Chicora Ambulance assisted at the scene. The pickup had to be towed.

Jan. 2 — Robert P. Kummer, 48, of Clay Township was charged with having several drugs and alcohol in his system in connection with a traffic stop last month in Center Township.

Police said they stopped Kummer around 8:40 p.m. Dec. 11 on Route 8 near Mercer Road after his pickup truck crossed over the white fog line several times and the solid yellow line once, according to court documents.

The defendant was subsequently taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test after he failed field sobriety testing. Toxicology results showed that he tested positive for cocaine, benzoylecgonine, morphine and fentanyl.

Additionally, his blood-alcohol level was 0.036 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Kummer is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, DUI, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, driving with a suspended license, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.

Jan. 2 — Police charged a Clearfield County man with driving on drugs and having drugs and related contraband stemming from a November DUI checkpoint on Route 28 near Exit 17 in Buffalo Township.

The defendant, John F. Moore, 42, of Clearfield, is facing a list of criminal and traffic charges.

During a checkpoint detail around 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 22, according to court documents, police searched Moore and found a bag of syringes in a jacket pocket. Police said he admitted that he had used heroin in the past two weeks and that he uses Suboxone.

He was given field sobriety tests and showed impairment. Police took him to an undisclosed hospital for a blood test that indicated he had benzoylecgonine, fentanyl and norfentanyl in his system.

Moore is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of an unspecified controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.
